Penelope Cruz is in talks to join Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth installment of the series. The film will be directed by Rob Marshall (Nine) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. They are undoubtedly looking to boost the film’s star-power after Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom left the film franchise.
Marshall worked with Cruz on Nine, for which she just received an Oscar nomination. Details from the Pirates script are also unknown, but reports suggest that it will be centered around the search for the Fountain of Youth. On Stranger Tides starts shooting in Hawaii this summer and Disney plans a May 20011 release. –NATASHA ALLOWAY
