Narcos actors Pedro Pascal, Boyd Holbrook and Wagner Moura attended the Netflix series’ season 2 premiere at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, California Wednesday night.

Narcos Premiere

Pascal, Holbrook and Moura all looked dapper at the season 2 premiere of Narcos last night. Games of Thrones star Pascal and Moura both went with black suits and opted to forgo ties for the red carpet event. Holbrook stood out between the actors in a burgundy suit and patterned skinny tie accessorized with a tie clip.

In Narcos, Moura plays Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. Holbrook and Pascal, meanwhile, play the men out to get him – DEA Agents Steve Murphy (Holbrook) and Javier Pena (Pascal). In season two, Murphy and Pena close in on Escobar and take him out, ending a major chapter in the cocaine trade and in the show.

“This will be the end of the Pablo Escobar story so enjoy him while he lasts,” executive producer Eric Newman revealed ahead of the screening. Newman had previously said, “We plan on stopping when cocaine stops. I think there’s a reason why we call this show Narcos and not Pablo Escobar. It’s very much about the trade. There are other drug dealers and there are alliances formed against Pablo, so there are a multitude of stories we could tackle.”

At the premiere, Newman elaborated on the Escobar storyline in Narcos. “I remember the Titanic argument: Who’s going to see a movie where everyone knows the ending?” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “The decision to be able to actually invest time spent with Pablo Escobar knowing that the end is near will allow people to experience it in a different way.”

He added, “We love Pablo. We don’t love the man, but we love the character we’ve built, who Wagner has played so well. We want people to join in mourning him right away, because it’s hard to say goodbye to them.”

Narcos season 2 will premiere on Netflix September 2.
