Around midday, police were called to a home after an individual called in expressing concern for a woman that has now been identified as Geldof, reported BBC News. “Police were called at 13:35 on 7 April, 2014 to an address near Wrotham following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman,” Kent police said in a statement. "A woman aged 25 was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service. Officers are working to establish the circumstances around the death."

“At this stage,” the police added, “the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden."

Family Mourns Peaches Geldof

Peaches' father, Bob Geldof, released a statement after news of her death broke. "We are beyond pain,” he said, speaking for himself and the rest of their family. “She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?"

"We loved her and will cherish her forever,” he added. “How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken."

Musician Thomas Cohen, Geldof’s surviving husband with whom she had sons Astala and Phaedra, also released a statement about her passing. "My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever,” he said.

Geldof, who lost her mother from a heroin overdose when she was 11, launched a successful career at the young age of 15 by writing a column for Elle magazine. She went on to host TV programs and spent time working as a model.

Geldof is survived by her husband and sons; father Bob Geldof; and sisters Fifi Trixibelle, Pixie and Tiger Lily Hutchence Geldof.
