Paulina Gretzky, the socialite daughter of Canadian hockey star Wayne Gretzky, opened up about her family and her infamous Twitter pictures for her Maxim cover story.

Gretzky, who got into trouble with her athlete father for posting bikini selfies on Twitter and Instagram, is still reaping the benefits of her racy photos – and she has no regrets. “I'm sorry, I'm not posting pictures when I'm reading a book,” she told Maxim. “I feel like social media is supposed to be for fun, to share what you're doing when you're enjoying life."

While her NHL Hall of Famer dad may not have approved of her Twitter use, her fiancé, golfer Dustin Johnson, has won his favor. In fact, their mutual love of the sport in which Johnson makes his living has brought the two together. Gretzky revealed, "My dad loves playing golf, so it's certainly a plus.”

Gretsky, an aspiring model and actress, despite her closeness with her father, doesn’t share his connection to Canada. “I know where my dad is from, and I know how much he means to Canada, but I’m American,” she tells the magazine. “These days, I basically split my time between L.A., where my family is, and Florida, where my fiancé [golfer Dustin Johnson] is based.”

Spending this week at her home base L.A., Gretzky narrowly avoided a trip to the hospital during a night out at The Tipsy Goat in Thousand Oaks. The party girl apparently caught her shirt on fire when she tried to throw a cigarette into the bar’s outdoor fire pits, according to TMZ. Thankfully, according to her people, she didn’t sustain any serious injuries in the accident.

Gretzky will grace the cover of Maxim’s December issue, which hits newsstands Nov. 19.
