Paulina Gretsky, daughter of NHL Hall-of-Famer Wayne Gretsky, recently became engaged to golf pro Dustin Johnson.

Gretsky, 24, first confirmed the engagement news on Instagram with a picture of the newly engaged pair kissing, with the new diamond clearly on display. The romantic photo was captioned, “Never Been Happier @djohnsonpga.” Her brother shared the news on Twitter shortly thereafter.

On Sunday, Johnson, 29, also took to Twitter, captioning a photo of Gretsky’s bejeweled hand simply: “she said yes!!!!”

Gretsky and Johnson have only publicly been dating since the beginning of this year. They were first spotted together in January in Kapalua, Hawaii at the 2013 PGA Tour opener, which Johnson ultimately won. The following week, Gretsky’s parents accompanied her to the Sony Open.

Prior to their relationship, Gretsky (aside from being the daughter of the Great One) was best known for posting racy photos of herself on social media and becoming fodder for the tabloids. The camera that followed Gretsky, and by extension Johnson, hasn’t bothered him. "It's not weird to me," he told Canada.com. "I enjoy it. You've just got to be careful about what you're doing. There's always somebody taking a picture. I'm not used to worrying about people taking pictures of me."

Gretsky reportedly was in a previous relationship with Los Angeles Kings player Jarrett Stoll, which she has denied. Johnson has also denied his previous reported relationship with fellow pro golfer Natalie Gulbis.
