Paul Walker’s legacy in death is proving to be far more than his film resume, as stories such as his generosity towards an Iraq War soldier and his wife who were ring shopping in Los Angeles.

Paul Walker Bought Ring For Iraq Vet, Wife

Roughly 10 years ago, Walker was browsing in a Santa Barbara jewelry store when he witnessed the couple searching for a ring they couldn't afford. The then-30-year-old actor, who’d starred in the first two Fast & Furious films at that point, subtly offered to help.

"The groom was just back from duty in Iraq, and he was going to be deployed again soon and wanted to buy a wedding ring, but he said he just could not afford it," saleswoman Irene King told CNN. "I don't think the soldier realized how expensive those rings are, about $10,000."

"Walker called the manager over and said, 'Put that girl's ring on my tab,'" King added. "Walker left all his billing info, and it was a done deal. The couple was stunned. She was thrilled and could not believe someone did this."

Married Couple Remember Paul Walker's Generosity

Today, the couple – Kyle and Kristen Upham – are married and forever grateful for Walker’s show of generosity. “It’s still to this day the most generous thing anyone has ever done for me,” Kristen told CBS Los Angeles.

“His real life speaks volumes of his character,” Kristen added. “He really did put his money where his mouth is, and did good for this world."
