The cast of Stranger Things season two will remain largely the same, and the new cast members will fit in nicely with the 80s nostalgia theme.
The case of season one was mostly unknown, save for Winona Ryder and Matthew Modine, who were both icons in the 1980s. Two of the three announced new cast members share the same nostalgia – Sean Astin and Paul Reiser.
Watch Paul Reiser’s uInterview:
Astin, known for his work on such films as The Goonies, Rudy, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, will play Bob Newby, a lovable nerd who went to school with Ryder’s character Joyce and Modine’s Hopper. Reiser, known for Aliens and Mad About You, will play Dr. Owens, who works with the evil organization from season one who is tasked with the clean-up from the finale.
The third is Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen, who only sports a few short films on her iMDB page. She will play Roman, a young woman who is emotionally damaged and, while she does not live in the town of Hawkins, she is connected to the supernatural lab events.
Astin, Reiser, and Berthelsen are the newest in a growing list of new cast members for the Netflix original, including Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery who play twins Max and Billy, two very mysterious step-siblings in Hawkins.
Production on the new season has already begun, and is set to debut in 2017.
