Paul Kevin Curtis, 45, has been identified as the guilty party who sent ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama, Sen. Roger Wicker and Lee County, Miss. justice of the peace Sadie Holland, ABC News reports.
Authorities were able to connect Curtis to the letters through his handwriting. Curtis had written to government officials in the past with the tag-line, “I am KC and I approve this message.”
Armed officers arrested Curtis in his Corinth, Mass. house on Thursday. He has been charged with sending a letter that had the ability to injure and kill the president. According to a court affidavit, Curtis's letter read:
No one wanted to listen to me before.
There are still 'Missing Pieces'
Maybe I have your attention now
Even if that means someone must die.
This must stop.
To see a wrong and not expose it,
Is to become a silent partner to its continuance
I am KC and I approve this message
Curtis, an Elvis impersonator, has caused worry in the past among family members for his anti-government beliefs. His ex-wife even notified the police of his actions back in 2007.
