Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger have been tapped to play the leads in the young adult love story Midnight Sun.
Midnight Sun, based on a 2006 Japanese film, tells the story of a 17-year-old girl named Katie (Thorne), who’s been made homebound by a rare disease that makes exposure to sunlight fatal. Things take a turn for the better after Katie meets Charlie, to be played by Schwarzenegger, reported Deadline.
Scott Speer (Step Up Revolution) is onboard to direct Midnight Sun. Eric Kirsten is penning the film’s script.
In addition to Midnight Sun, Thorne will be busy filming Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip and Shovel Buddies this year. The former Disney star will also be seen in the TV movie, Perfect High.
Schwarzenegger, who will be a senior at the University of Southern California in the fall, has two films coming out next year – Dear Eleanor and Scout’s Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
