Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink
Patrick Dempsey and his wife Jillian Fink have announced that they are divorcing after 15 years of marriage.
Dempsey and Fink, a jewelry designer, confirmed their decision to split in a statement to People.
“It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage,” the couple wrote. “Our primary concern remains the wellbeing of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family’s privacy at this very sensitive time.”
Fink filed for divorce Jan. 23, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents, which also indicate that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement. Fink is asking for child and spousal support, and for the Grey’s Anatomy star to pay her attorneys fees.
The divorce filing indicates that the couple will share custody of their three children – Talula Fyfe, 12, and twins Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen, 7.
Dempsey married Fink in 1999. He was previously married to Rocky Parker from 1987 to 1994.
