Pat Woodell Dies

Woodell died on Sept. 29 after a battle with cancer at her home in Fallbrook, Calif. Woodell’s husband, Vern McDade, confirmed her passing Monday, reported The New York Times.

Woodell played the part of middle sister Bobbi Jo Bradley on Petticoat Junction for two seasons in the 60s. She had starred opposite Linda Kaye Henning as Betty Jo and Jeannine Riley as Billie Jo.

Prior to the star-making part on Petticoat Junction, Woodell had appeared on TV shows Cheyenne, Hawaiian Eye and 77 Sunset Strip. Following her success on the show she continued acting on TV, making guest appearances on The Munsters, The Bright Promise and The New Perry Mason.

Woodell also had a few film credits to her name, including The Big Doll House, The Woman Hunt, The Twilight People and The Roommates.

Though she made a name for herself as an actress, Woodell was also an accomplished singer. It was her musical aspirations that led her to leave Petticoat Junction after just two seasons and to leave acting altogether in the 70s.
