Parrot’s Mambo Drone: Let’s Non-Photographers Experience The Joy Of Flight

If you aren’t a camera person or a tech-forward social media star, there is not much point in having a drone. Unless, of course, there’s a drone that has a peashooter and can pick things up mid-flight. Parrot’s latest addition to their affordable minidrone series is the Mambo, a 7.1 x 7.1 inch quadcopter that prioritizes a fun and quick piloting experience over a more expensive drones videographic purposes.

> BUY NOW: Parrot’s Mambo Drone

Pilotable from a simple controller or directly from your smartphone, the Mambo has a 200-foot range with its fly-pad and 65 feet with a phone, and can stay in the air for up to eight minutes. While that sounds brief, charge time is only thirty minutes, and a spare battery will cure any impatience.

Most unique about the Mambo is its accessories, a cannon and a grabber. The cannon can fire six balls per magazine, one every 1.5 seconds, as far as six feet. Soft and harmless, they are perfect for shooting small targets or playing a game of tag with other drones. The only caveat: the balls are easy to lose. The grabber offers more precise aerial skills, able to catch objects up to 0.15 ounces in weight, and attaches to the belly of the drone.

The Parrot Mambo minidrone is the 2016 equivalent to an RC truck; inexpensive, easy-to-use, and designed for fun.
