A tweet was recently posted on Joe Jackson‘s account that seemed to imply that the father/manager of the musical Jackson was very close to death, though it appears that there is a bit more to the story.

Paris Jackson soon followed up that missive with a tweet of her own revealing that her grandfather, who is reportedly suffering from pancreatic cancer, is typically not the one composing the posts on his own account, explaining, “this is a beautiful tweet. though it upsets me to see whoever is in charge of this account taking advantage of it. my grandfather did not tweet this. i’m not sure if he’s ever used this account.”

Despite the confusion, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson was happy to thank fans for the messages of support they have sent to her family during this time.

The Jacksons have kept many of the details of Joe’s condition private, though his son Jermaine Jackson did clear up some confusion, noting that “‘dying’ is a harsh word chosen by headline writers” and that for “however long [Joe] has left, my mother, siblings, and relatives want to be with him, without hindrance.”

Also speaking out publicly recently about Joe was Janet Jackson, who used the occasion of winning the first ever Impact Award at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards on Friday to honor her parents, noting, “My mother nourished me with the most extravagant love imaginable, my father, my incredible father, drove me to be the best that I can.”
