Jackson, the only daughter of Michael Jackson, made a rare public appearance to celebrate the opening night of the Deaf West Theater’s production of Spring Awakening in Los Angeles, which incorporates sign language into the show to serve a broader public. Jackson, 17, posed for photos alongside her boyfriend, Castellaw, 18, a soccer player who plays semi-professionally for the Real So Cal youth soccer club. The duo was all smiles, with Jackson looking radiant in a simple grey dress, tall Dr. Marten boots and pink-colored streaks in her hair.

Jackson and Castellaw have not been quiet when it comes to their relationship. The teens frequently share PDA photos on social media, though their accounts are mostly private. Jackson used to be somewhat active on Twitter, but she stopped Tweeting following her suicide attempt in 2013.

Rumors circulated that Jackson and Castellaw were engaged to be married after Jackson was spotted wearing a sparkly ring on her left ring finger, but family members have stated that the ring is only a promise ring.
