Leaving on a jet plane doesn’t always turn out for the best. Paris Hilton has been detained in Japan and may not be allowed to stay in the country, following her appearance in a Las Vegas court where she pled guilty to cocaine possession.
Hilton, 29, flew to Japan for business obligations and is being held in a hotel until the immigration authorities decide what to do with her. "Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier," said her spokesperson in a statement to Radar Online. Persons entering Japan under suspended sentences may only enter under special circumstances. The socialite, traveling with sister Nicky, 26, was scheduled to promote her fashion line.
Her appearance was also canceled. "Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn’t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans. She intended on fulfilling her contract and is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control," her spokesperson said. –AMY LEE
