Pamela Anderson will make her Broadway debut next month in the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago.

The actress, who gained fame for her role on Baywatch, said she is excited to see what she is capable of.

“From ‘Baywatch’ to Broadway. I am inspired by the unexpected,” she said in a statement. “This is it, and I will not hold back anymore. I am letting go. For ‘Chicago,’ I’ll be putting all my cards on the table. I am doubling down — on me.”

The musical follows Roxie as she tries to make it as an actress in 1920s Chicago. Anderson had been asked to play Roxie a decade ago, but there was a scheduling conflict.

“Performing Fosse (Chicago’s choreographer and director), you don’t have time to get in your head,” Anderson said. “You can’t dance, sing and think at the same time. There is a freedom, a unique joy in knowing it’s all about the work. Playing Roxie Hart is a sweet escape for me.”

Anderson also recently announced a Netflix documentary recounting the real story of her life, likely in response to Hulu’s new series Pam & Tommy. Reports claim that Anderson was not happy with the accuracy in the portrayal of the time in her life surrounding the highly publicized relationship between her and her ex-husband musician Tommy Lee, though sources say the show and actress Lily James, who plays Anderson reached out to her but did not receive a response.

The role of Roxie was previously performed by actresses like Christie Brinkley, Brooke Shields and Melanie Griffith.

Anderson is set to make her debut on April 12 and perform for eight weeks at Broadway’s Ambassador Theatre. She will wrap up her run on Sunday, June 5.
