PAC Of Ex-Republican Leaders Runs Ads Blasting ‘Dictator Donald’ Trump In New Campaign

The Republican Accountability PAC has created a new ad that calls Donald Trump a “dictator.”

The ad, called “Dictator Donald,” was produced by a Republican group that stands opposed to Trump.

The “Dictator Donald” was posted on YouTube over two weeks after Trump announced that he wanted to be a dictator on “the first day” of a new Trump administration.

The ad warns Americans in the starkest terms about a second Trump term.

The ad starts with a recording of an alarm clock going off at 6:00 a.m.

Next, the ad shows a clip of former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming) shown inside an old TV, warning Americans during an interview.

“This isn’t hyperbole,” she claimed. “A vote for Donald Trump may mean the last election that you ever get to vote in.”

“He’s a threat to democracy,” Trump’s Secretary of Defense Mark Esper states in another clip.

“This is Donald J. Trump. He was the 45th president of the United States,” the narrator stated. “He caused an insurrection at the Capitol, and sorry to ruin your Christmas, but he’s running again.”

As the narrator begins speaking, a montage of clips showing Trump at his rallies i displayed.

“This guy is openly running as a wannabe dictator,” the ad says. “Trump said he would terminate the constitution so he could be president again.”

“Do you know who else did that? [Benito] Mussolini, [Hugo] Chávez, [Augusto] Pinochet — all of them shelved their Constitutions to centralize power,” the narrator declared while showing images of the former dictators. “Trump is planning to purge tens of thousands of civil servants, and replace them with loyalists.”

A cut-out of a Financial Times headline displays on the screen: “‘There Needs To Be A Purge’: Donald Trump’s Plan For A Second Term” appeared onscreen.

“Authoritarian Viktor Orbán used the same tactic to dismantle Hungary’s democracy,” the narrator claimed while clips of Orbán are shown.

“Trump’s chances of winning are very real,” the speaker declares while showing a clip of Trump and a New York Times article headline: “Trump Leads in 5 Critical States as Voters Blast Biden, Times/Siena Poll Finds”.

“The alarm is going off. Everyone needs to wake up,” the narrator says while the recording of the alarm clock is shown again and the phrase “Wake Up” appears onscreen.

A montage of people then appeared onscreen with the words “We Have A Choce” appear in all caps.

The narrator claimed that we must choose if we prefer “Protecting Our Democracy,” a suggestion appearing onscreen in all caps while a clip of the U.S. Capitol played. “It’s time to get off the sidelines. We can’t let Donald Trump get close to the Oval Office again.”

According to a press release from the PAC’s website, the ad is part of a six-figure ad campaign.

“Among Republicans and Democrats alike, not enough people have internalized that Trump is cruising to a third nomination,” said Gunner Ramer, the political director for the Republican Accountability PAC. “He’s become even more conspiratorial, more dictatorial, more authoritarian—and he has a real chance of being the next president of the United States. It’s time to start confronting the problem head-on.”

“Threats to democracy don’t take a break for the holidays. Donald Trump poses an existential crisis for our Constitutional order,” the PAC’s Director of Strategy John Conway said in a statement. “Americans all across the country are hoping he will simply fade away. He isn’t.”

Conway stated the PAC is warning people of the dangers of another Trump term.

“If we value our democracy, we must start working now to ensure that Donald Trump never holds political power again,” Conway stated.

Republican presidential candidates, Asa Hutchinson and Chris Christie, have attacked the former president during their campaign for the GOP nomination, but their rivals have not.

In a Truth Social post on Christmas Day, Trump wished that President Joe Biden and Special Counsel Jack Smith “rot in hell.”
