Ozzy Osbourne announced that he will not be performing at the Power Trip Festival in October due to health issues.
He posted a statement on Twitter to share the news with his fans.
“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.”
Osbourne explained his decision, citing health concerns as the reason.
“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.”
He will be replaced by the rock group Judas Priest, who he added are “personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”
Osbourne ended the announcement by thanking everyone for their support in this difficult time for him.
“Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support. I love you all and I will see you soon.”
The Power Trip Festival will feature world-known rock groups, including AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica and Iron Maiden on October 6 to October 8 in California.
He first revealed his ongoing health issues in January 2020 with his Parkinson’s diagnosis. In April 2022, the singer caught COVID and required surgery just two months later.
Recently he announced that due to an accident from four years ago, his spine was damaged and it was taking a toll on his body. This forced him to cancel all his shows and officially retire from touring again.
