Diana Gabaldon, author of the popular Outlander series, revealed that the series will finish with ten books, and that she knows exactly how it will end at EW PopFest this weekend,
The first novel was published in 1991, and ninth in the series, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, is in the works with no set release date. The sci-fi/historical fiction mystery series focuses on love interests Claire and Jamie who find adventure and romance in 18th century Scotland.
In the beginning of the series, there is a scene that is never explained. A fan asked the author if the newest ninth book would explain this strange occurrence. “It’ll be the very last thing in the last book, which I think is probably book 10,” she replied. Not only does the author know when the series will end, she already knows how it will end as well.
The book series was also adapted into a popular television program of the same name on Starz.
