Thomas Rhett‘s Bring The Bar To You Tour stopped in Charleston, South Carolina recently, and featured some unexpected special guests. During his set, Rhett invited Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes (John B) and Austin North (Topper) on stage to sing.
The trio sang a version of Garth Brooks‘ hit song, “Friends in Low Places.” A TikTok of the rendition went viral, garnering over 277,000 views and 30,000 likes.
“Alright, these dudes say they listen to country music,” said Rhett to the excited crowd in the Credit One Stadium. “We’re going to see what they got right here. Are y’all ready?”
Rhett passed the mic to the Netflix stars, and they attempted to sing the chorus line. Their funky dance moves and off-pitch vocals prompted Rhett to step in and finish the rest.
“I was so excited when they came out, but they disappointed me,” wrote one concertgoer. “That was good to see, but they didn’t know the words,” wrote another.
After the performance, Stokes and North went backstage to hang out with Rhett and his children.
In a series of photos posted by Rhett, one of the pics was Stokes giving Willa Gray, Rhetts oldest child, a piggyback ride. He included another shot of him, Stokes and North singing on stage in front of a packed crowd.
“Charleston, SC!!! Can we make this an every Saturday night situation?? What a blast! @hichasestokes @austinnorth55 @connersmithmusic @parkermccollum 📸 @graysongregory,” Rhett wrote in the caption.
