‘Outer Banks’ Star Austin North Arrested For Assaulting Emergency Room Staffers In Las Vegas

Austin North, the actor known for his role in the popular series Outer Banks, recently made headlines after an alleged altercation with hospital employees in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A police report details the 27-year-old star’s apprehension after the purported assault of multiple employees within the emergency room at University Medical Center. Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene on Tuesday in response to reports of assault and battery. They proceeded to interview the alleged victims to gather accounts of the incident.

In a statement shared on his Instagram Story on Thursday, North addressed the event:  “I am deeply upset by the events that took place in Las Vegas this past week. My friend drove me to the hospital because I thought I was having a heart attack. Several tests were taken, including blood, which came back negative for any drugs or alcohol in my system. I was having a severe anxiety attack.”

North then revealed that he had limited recollection of the events that unfolded at the hospital. He conveyed his utmost respect for healthcare workers and hospital staff and emphasized his intention to shed light on this debilitating disorder and offer hope to those who have encountered similar struggles.

As per the police report, North fought with several nurses and a phlebotomist when he entered the emergency room on Tuesday. Allegedly, he struck a nurse in the head and forcefully shoved another in the face before he pushed the phlebotomist into a table. In an act of self-defense, the phlebotomist utilized a nearby tray to strike North on the head. Eventually, hospital security intervened to restrain North and secure him to a gurney.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the actor was read his Miranda rights, and he confirmed his comprehension of the battery charges leveled against him. He was taken into custody and booked for gross misdemeanor battery. Subsequently, he was released on bail.

Before the incident, North had been in Las Vegas to attend the Super Bowl. Through a video montage shared on Instagram, the actor chronicled his experiences, which encompassed activities such as car racing, red carpet events and the vibrant club scene that followed the football festivities.

North gained prominence for his portrayal of the character Topper in Netflix’s series Outer Banks. Prior to that, he had appeared in productions on the Disney Channel like Kickin’ It and “I Didn’t Do It, roles that established him a solid presence in the entertainment industry.

Last February, North was seen on the red carpet with his casemates at the Outer Banks season three premiere.
