Orlando Bloom was caught on video trying to punch Justin Bieber at a club, reportedly angered by Bieber's relationship with his estranged wife Miranda Kerr, and the viral video has celebrities taking sides.
Bloom and Bieber reportedly got into a fight in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a club in Ibiza, Spain. The exact cause of the fight is unknown, though many reports suggest it has something to do with the rumors that Kerr and Bieber got close when the young pop star performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2012.
One possible cause for the scuffle is that Bloom refused to shake Bieber’s hand when the two crossed paths at the club, and when Bieber asked why, Bloom became angry, mentioned Kerr and then went for the punch. Another theory is that Bieber taunted Bloom, saying, “She was good,” causing Bloom to attack. Bieber’s bodyguard stopped Bloom’s punch from making contact.
Bieber reportedly left the club soon after, and TMZ claims that the club was mostly Team Orlando, as attendees applauded when Bieber walked out.
After he left, Bieber posted a photo of Kerr in a bikini on Instagram, seemingly confirming the rumors that Kerr was involved in the altercation. Bieber deleted the photo the same day, sending out a different message on Twitter. “Keeping it positive,” Bieber tweeted Wednesday.
Bloom has not released any statement on the incident, nor is he active on social media. Bieber, however, has continued to bring it up. On Thursday, Bieber shared a photo of an emotional Bloom on Instagram. Though Bieber did not provide a caption, the message is pretty self-explanatory.
Kerr has also refrained from commenting, but a source close to the supermodel says she is embarrassed by all the drama.
“Miranda wants all of this behind her and she just wants to move on from this and go about her life. She is very embarrassed about everything that has gone on,” the source told E! News.
Once the story broke, fans and celebrities were quick to take sides, declaring themselves either Team Orlando/Bloom or Team Justin/Bieber. Bieber’s legion of fans remain, as always, firmly by his side on Team Bieber, but celebrities seem to be leaning towards Team Orlando.
Late night comedians also weighed in on the debate.
Stephen Colbert did an entire segment about the Bieber vs. Bloom war on The Colbert Report.
