Netflix has ordered a fourth season for its hit women’s prison comedy drama Orange is the New Black.
Uzo Aduba announced the new season on Good Morning America Wednesday, telling George Stephanopoulos, “Season four is now the new news.”
In addition to revealing the new season order Friday, Netflix also released a new clip from the forthcoming third season that features Aduba playing fan favorite character Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren. Eating at a cafeteria table with Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Poussey (Samira Wiley) and Big Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore), Crazy Eyes says, “You should be meticulous with your words. That’s what Vee would say.”
Standing up, Poussey tells her, “‘cept she don’t say s–t now. Because everybody be saying that that b–ch got smushed like a bug on a windshield.” When Crazy Eyes starts to lose it, smashing her hands on her head, a guard warns Taystee to get her to calm down lest she be thrown into the SHU.
Piper Kerman, the woman whose memoir inspired the Netflix comedy drama, as well as members of the Orange is the New Black cast, took to Twitter to celebrate the news of a fourth season.
Orange is the New Black‘s third season will premiere on Netflix June 12.
