‘Orange Is The New Black’ Star Uzo Aduba Pregnant With First Baby With Husband Robert Sweeting

Uzo Aduba is expecting her first child.

The actress, who played Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on Orange is the New Black, is pregnant with her first baby with her film producer husband Robert Sweeting.

Aduba posted a formal announcement with a video on Instagram of her blissfully grasping a baby onesie.

“What a blessing. My husband Robert and I are so happy to enter this next chapter together as parents,” she wrote I am beyond excited. I get to be someone’s Mommy! I know as the three of us continue to grow, our only, ONLY goal will be love you, little one. My goodness. Look what God has done.”

Various costars and friends congratulated her.

Insecure‘s Yvonne Orji wrote, “Congrats mama!!! Blessings on blessings on blessings.”

TV host Maria Menounos, who is also pregnant, commented. “Congrats friend!!!!!! We are both gonna be moms!:):).”

Last week, Aduba unveiled her stomach on the 2023 Tony Awards’ red carpet.

Aduba opened the button on her orange Christian Siriano outfit and displayed her growing bump while she stood on the red carpet. She paired the look with David Webb jewelry, Alexandre Birman shoes and a Judith Leiber handbag.

Aduba and Sweeting had an intimate wedding ceremony in September 2020 in New York.

She spoke about her marriage for the first time in an Instagram post that month, and referenced a part from the film When Harry Met Sally.

“For some of us, it can feel like we spend our whole lives waiting for our special someone. My heart, my love – I’m so happy my life started last year with you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me” she noted.

Aduba recently looked back on the mothers in her life in an Instagram post on Mother’s Day.

“Happy beautiful Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there,” she wrote. “I honor all of you. I was so blessed to have a great mother who I am truly grateful to have had, here, for so many remarkable years. I wish we could have had even more, seen even more together in the physical, but I know we are sharing and making so many new memories together in the spiritual. God Bless each of you who do this job, both the born unto you and the chosen. I hope you get a chance to enjoy your very special and deserved day. I love you so much, Mommy!
