Olivier Martinez Confirms Engagement To Halle Berry

It seems that French actor Olivier Martinez, 46, is tired of dodging rumors that he and Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, 45, are engaged, so he decided to avoid all the hullabaloo and come clean.

"Yes, of course it's true," Martinez told The Miami Herald when asked about upcoming nuptials between him and Berry.

The Unfaithful actor also took the opportunity to clear up a misunderstanding about Berry's diamond-and-emerald engagement ring. New York jewelry designer Gurhan had claimed credit for designing the piece when the engagement rumors starting flying back in January, and Martinez is not happy about it.

"It's a lie!" he said. "They have nothing to do with this." Instead, Parisian designer Robert Mazio, whom Martinez considers "a real artist," designed the ring. According to Martinez, Mazio's family has been designing jewelry for "kings and queens for many centuries."

Berry has been married twice before, to baseball player David Justice and R&B musician Eric Benet. She has a three-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
