Olivia Newton-John Responds To ‘Exaggerated’ Rumors About Her Cancer, Approaching Death: “I’m Doing Great”

According to many recent reports, Olivia Newton-John is just weeks away from dying of cancer, but the actress and singer has now responded to these rumors by dispelling the notion that her health is declining.

The 70-year-old Australian former Grease (1978) star assured fans she is “doing great” in a short video shared to her Twitter account on Wednesday. Newton-John also wished everyone a Happy New Year on the second day of 2019.

“Happy New Year, everyone!” a cheerful Newton-John stated in the video. “I just want to say the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, to quote a very famous quote, and I’m doing great and I want to wish all of you the happiest, healthiest 2019 that’s possible.”

“Thank you all for the wonderful love and support for me and my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia,” the actress added.

Just weeks before her 70th birthday in September, it was revealed that Newton-John had been diagnosed with cancer for a third time: she revealed she has a tumor in her spine. Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, then the disease resurfaced in her shoulder in 2013 shortly after she was in a car accident.

Even though she was most recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer — which reportedly metastasized to her back — People reported that Newton-John said new reports about her health were “crap” and “ridiculous.”

RadarOnline was among the news outlets that claimed the actress’s body seemed to be “shutting down.” Newton-John is also reportedly hoping to live long enough to see her daughter Chloe Latttanzi marry her fiancé in 2019.

Newton-John’s niece Tottie Goldsmith also shared an update of her aunt’s health on Wednesday on Instagram.
