In an endearing video to Carolina Panthers’ fans, Olivia Culpo said her farewells after her boyfriend Christian McCaffrey was traded to the 49ers.
On Thursday, it was announced that McCaffrey is going to California with the 49ers and, in return, Carolina will get second, third and fourth round picks in 2023.
The Panthers were also in talks with the Niners and the Rams, though those evidently did not pan out.
Culpo made it known that there are no resentments over the decision in her Instagram comment thread.
“So many emotions right now,” Culpo said. “This city stole my heart and I’ll never forget the memories and people who made the last 3+ years so special. I’ll miss you all so much and you’ll always hold a special place in my heart. I’m so proud of you Christian! Seeing your light shine is one of my favorite things in life and I’m beyond excited and grateful for this next chapter in Cali, the place I’ve called home for the last 8 years ❤️ Niners Nation, let’s go!”
The song “Carolina” by James Taylor played as a video showed sweet moments between the two.
McCaffrey and Culpo have been dating for three years now.
The trade seems to have been great for the 49ers as their odds of winning the Super Bowl has gone up according to Fan Duel, which has the odds at 14-1 up from their initial odds at 18-1.
Culpo gave a shout out to flight attendants on American Airlines, saying, “love you guys and thank you for the heavy pours. I won’t be seeing you as often but we had a good run 🍷😅.”
