OK Go Releases Zero-Gravity Music Video [WATCH]

There is a new OK Go video and it does not disappoint. (And yes, for those of you who aren’t sure, these are the treadmill guys.)

For their new single “Upside Down & Inside Out” yesterday started their video with a warning:

What you are about to see is real. We shot this in zero gravity, in an actual plane, in the sky. There are no wires or green screen.

It starts pretty normally. The four guys are sitting on the emergency exit seats working on their laptops (to the beat of the song, of course). And then the laptops are thrown in the air. And then seat belts come off, flight attendants start spinning, yellow suitcases filled with balls are thrown towards the camera, piñatas are broken, and more. My personal favorite part is when paint balloons are tossed into the band members. See it for yourself:

Russian airline S7 Airlines embarked on this project in order to raise its profile. As the video already has over 30 million views, they’ve probably met their goal.

For those of you who are curious, OK Go has released an explanation of how this video was made. The band got three weeks of training at the Roscosmos State Corporation center, Russia’s space science program. Also fun fact, the flight attendants are real S7 flight attendants who happen to have acrobat training.

Speaking about Damien Kulash, the lead singer and guitarist of OK Go, the band’s bassist Tim Nordwind told ABC7, “Damien and I have known each other since we were 11 and I think we’ve always been attracted to the absurd. And we’ve taken chasing absurdity and fun really seriously our entire lives.”
