OJ Simpson's Lawyer To Represent Lindsay Lohan
Desperate for the best representation she can get, Lindsay Lohan has hired attorney Robert Shapiro, the lawyer who famously defended and saved O.J. Simpson from his murder charges in 1994. Shapiro, whose son died of a drug overdose in 2005 at the age of 24, is working to eliminate or minimize jail time for Lohan, and persuade the Los Angeles superior judge to instead place her in a live-in rehabilitation center. Shapiro has not yet made a comment about his new client.
Last week, Lohan’s former lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley quit just two days after Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating her 2007 drunk driving probation. Holley said she is disappointed by the result of the trial and found the penalty too cruel.
"The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments with court requirements," Holley told MTV News. "To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair." At this time, Lohan is expected to report to prison on July 20. –Natthakan Garunrangseewong
