Noah Cyrus, sister to Miley Cyrus and daughter to Billy Ray and Trace Cyrus, has followed in her family’s footsteps and entered the music industry.
The 16-year-old’s voice sounds just like Miley’s did when she was a teenager. Noah’s first single, “Make Me (Cry)” and features R&B singer/songwriter Labrinth, came out Tuesday. The slow-paced breakup song is racked with emotion and strange noises, in tune with today’s pop variety.
“Gave you up about 21 times / Felt those lips tell me 21 lies,” the teen raps. “You’ll be the death of me, sage advice / Loving you could make Jesus cry.” The refrain feels a lot like Miley did during the days of “The Climb.”
Noah worked with music a bit back in 2009 and helped on the soundtrack for kids movie Ponyo. This single is her first release. Listen below.
