Natalie Portman is on top of the world.
The star, who is the favorite to win the Oscar for her turn as an obsessed ballerina in Black Swan, ruled the box office in a very different role, as a no-nonsense med student in the romantic comedy No Strings Attached.
The movie, which also stars Ashton Kutcher, took in $20.3 million this weekend, finishing comfortably ahead of Seth Rogan's superhero comedy The Green Hornet, which grossed $18.1 million. The Vince Vaughn–Kevin James comedy The Dilemma continued its lackluster run, taking in only $9.7 million to finish third.
The weekend's only other wide release was The Way Back, which stars Colin Farrell and Ed Harris. The movie opened to a $1.47 million gross, despite largely positive reviews from critics. —ISHITA SINGH
