Nintendo NES Classic
Nintendo’s 2016 stocking stuffer, the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition, enjoyed a short but sweet life. However, if you’ve yet to secure one of your own, you’ll need to redouble your efforts because Nintendo is discontinuing it.
IGN broke the news, as a Nintendo representative informed them that next month’s batch will be the final one. Unsurprisingly, prices for the system soared on eBay upon this revelation. Furthermore, Nintendo will cease manufacturing the NES Classic Edition’s controller as well.
The 8-bit throwback wasn’t meant to be a long-term pillar, and more were produced than Nintendo intended due to the demand. Additionally, Nintendo acknowledged the supply issues that plagued the NES Classic Edition and apologized for them.
The miniature gaming platform launched on November 11, and it became an instant commodity. Containing 30 of the most popular titles of yesteryear, it was a neat collectable. And if you want one for your own collection, then I hope the stars align in your favor.
