Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder tied the knot on Sunday, getting married in a private ceremony in Santa Monica, California.

Somerhalder, 36, and Reed, 26, were married on Sunday, April 26, four months after the two were engaged in January, just five months after they started dating. Somerhalder was previously in a serious relationship with his The Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev, and Reed was previously married to American Idol alum Paul McDonald.

The actors and animal rights activists have not yet spoken publicly about their wedding, but paparazzi photos of the ceremony surfaced on Monday and appear to confirm the report.

Reed reportedly wore a custom made, lace gown from designer Claire Pettibone, while Somerhalder wore a white suit. Little is known about the event, but, based on paparazzi photos, it appears a handful of Somerhalder’s costars and coworkers from TVD were present, including Kat Graham, Julie Plec, Matt Davis, Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin.

“I haven’t met two people that were more of soul mates than those guys. They are so, absolutely amazing. Everyone loves them, and I really can’t imagine him with anyone else,” Graham recently said of the couple.

Plec tweeted a sweet message on Monday that seemed to reference the wedding, writing, “Twas a beautiful day to be young and in love.”

Somerhalder himself also seemed to have referenced his wedding on Twitter on Sunday.

Celebrity friends of the couple have been congratulating the newlyweds on Twitter. Ellen DeGeneres congratulated them, adding, “I’m wishing you two crazy vampires a lifetime of happiness together.”

Catherine Hardwicke, who directed Reed in Thirteen and Twilight, also tweeted her well wishes.
