Nikki Reed, who played Rosalie in the Twilight vampire film franchise, is reportedly engaged to The Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder.

Reed, 26, and Somerhalder, 36, recently became engaged, a source told People magazine, adding, “They’re so happy!”

“She accepted with glee,” one insider told Us Weekly, referring to Reed. “She is madly in love.”

Another person close to the couple, addressing Reed and Somerhalder’s short six-month courtship, explained, “They were friends before, the groundwork had been laid before. They had always been attracted to each other, but always in another relationship. It may seem quick, but they knew it was right. They believe in the same things. They are dedicated to their work and helping others.”

Reed and Somerhalder were first spotted out together back in July. Just three weeks after pictures turned up of the two looking every bit a couple, it was reported that they’d moved in together, and had adopted a pair of horses and were raising a couple of dogs together. In December, Somerhalder was captured checking out rings for Reed.

Prior to getting involved with Somerhalder, Reed had been married to American Idol season 10 contestant Paul McDonald. The two divorced in March 2014 following three years of marriage. Somerhalder last publicly dated his Vampire Diaries costar Nina Dobrev, with whom he was in a relationship for three years.
