The recently married brother of Nicki Minaj has been charged with the rape of a child.

Jelani Minaj, 37, was arraigned Thursday on a first-degree charge rape charge and was freed from a Nassau County jail on $100,000 bail. Minaj was arrested on Tuesday but suffered an unknown medical condition that caused him to be arraigned two days later. It is not immediately clear if he entered a plea during his arraignment. He is due back in court Dec. 9, according to the Nassau County’s district attorney’s office. Nicki Minaj posted bond for her brother, according to multiple media reports.

I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man. Can’t believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile.

Investigators wrote in court documents that the victim was younger than 13 and that he raped the child several times between April and November. The documents state that the crime happened at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 30. Some of the details were blacked out by a judge. The charges, if Jelani is found guilty, carry a nine to 25 year sentence.

This charge comes months after Jelani married fiancé Jacqueline Robinson in Baldwin, N.Y. Nicki attended the wedding. She has not commented through a representative at this time. Back in August, she reportedly footed the bill for the wedding, went, and posted an Instagram picture with Jelani proclaiming her love for him. Since the news was released, the picture has filled up with angry comments about what happened.

From all accounts, Minaj and her brother are very close. They grew up together in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobego, having to deal with a violent and drug and alcohol addicted father.
