Nicki Minaj testified at her boyfriend Meek Mill‘s parole hearing in Philadelphia on Thursday.

Nicki Minaj Testifies

Minaj was called on to testify by Mill’s defense attorney, Frank DeSimone, who told Judge Genece Brinkley that Minaj and Mill were seriously discussing marriage, reported the New York Daily News. While Minaj did not mention anything about an engagement – despite mounting evidence of one – she did suggest that the two were living together and that she might have more pull over the rapper than his parole officer.

“She’s not going to be the one sleeping alone if he goes to jail. I am,” Minaj told Judge Brinkley. “He’s not perfect, but I can’t believe how much he’s changed.”

Minaj admitted that Mill needs to be more responsible and have more structure in his life, but stated that she’s been helping him improve in those areas.

“He doesn’t have a lot of structure. He can be irresponsible,” she said under oath. “Since I’ve come in his life, I think I’ve been working on that a little bit. … He’s just getting accustomed to being an adult.”

Mill is facing jail time for allegedly violating his parole from his 2009 drug and gun case, changing a court-approved travel schedule. Brinkley, who also claims that Mill submitted a suspicious urine sample, stated that she is considering ruling that he go back to jail for a few months at the next hearing on Dec. 17.

DeSimone argued for leniency, telling Brinkley, “He told me last evening how he respects you. He wouldn’t be who he is if you sent him to the state penitentiary in 2009. He wouldn’t be Meek Mill.”

Minaj and Mill were first linked in February.
