Following Eminem‘s “Campaign Speech” and Mac Miller‘s anti-Trump rant from The Nightly Show, it is the turn of Nicki Minaj to smack down Donald Trump over his controversial comments in a new song she dropped on Tuesday.
Minaj posted her track “Black Barbies” on Soundcloud for free download, taking aim at the new U.S. President-elect and his immigration policy. The song is a a remix of Rae Sremmurd’s 2016 hit “Black Beatles,” produced by Gucci Mane and Mike Will Made It.
The “Anaconda” rapper spits out two lines referencing Trump’s vow to deport several million illegal undocumented immigrants when his presidency begins. “You gon’ be floating in them rivers like you know Joan / Island girl, Donald Trump want me go home / Still pull up with my wrist looking like a snow cone,” Minaj raps. “Prayin’ all my foreigns don’t get deported,” she says later.
The lyrics seem to be a direct response to the remarks the GOP candidate made during his first post-election interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday. “What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people — probably two million, it could even be three million — we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate,” Trump said. “But we’re getting them out of our country. They’re here illegally.”
In fact, this is not the first time Minaj has spoken out against Trump and his family. During an October 15 performance at the Tidal X 1015 concert in Brooklyn, the rap star surprised the crowd with a freestyle unfavorably comparing Melania Trump to Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton and First Lady Michelle Obama.
While Minaj has already broken multiple chart records with just three albums under her belt, she is expected to drop her forth studio album soon. Last year, she also announced that she was working on a TV show about her family, which would specifically focus on the period in her childhood when they moved to Queens.
