Nicki Minaj took to social media to explain why she had to cancel a concert for the second time in two months, as upset fans chanted Cardi B‘s name at the venue.
The “Barbie Tingz” rapper was scheduled to perform Saturday Night in Bordeaux, France. However, as fans began to fill the Arkea Arena, they were informed that the show been cancelled. According to the 36-year-old performer, the show was cancelled due to “lack of electricity.” Minaj explained the situation on her Instagram account.
“You guys, it’s not in my best interest not perform and lose money and aggravate my fans,” Nicki explained on video. “I love performing for my fans. I’m more excited than you are before the show. These two cities that had technical issues were cities that I had never been before and we tried to add them but they just didn’t have the power in the building to facilitate my show. And they didn’t tell us that until three hours before the show … we did sound check, they said it was fine.”
“But anyway, every artist has technical difficulties and has to cancel shows,” she continued. “I wanna tell you guys that I love you dearly and I really hope to make it up very soon.”
Nicki’s explanation did little to cheer fans in the venue who chanted “Cardi B” when they were told the concert was cancelled.
Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have a tumultuous relationship to say the least. They have fought one another at a New York Fashion Week party and called each other out on social media.
