Rapper Nicki Minaj apologized for postponing her concert after her arrest in Amsterdam for alleged drug possession. Minaj live-streamed the arrest on her Instagram account. Footage shows police officers talking to Minaj and asking her to enter a vehicle to transport her to the police station.

One of the officers can be heard saying, “You’re under arrest . . . because you’re carrying drugs.” Police say Minaj possessed “soft drugs,” which include marijuana. Minaj denied the accusations and claimed authorities took her luggage without her consent. The arrest caused Minaj to postpone her Pink Friday 2 World Tour Saturday concert in Manchester, England.

Dutch police released a statement about the arrest, saying Minaj was fined and allowed to continue on her tour. On X, Minaj shared her thoughts on the incident. “Keep in mind they took my bags without consent,” she wrote. “My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him.”

In separate X posts, Minaj claimed authorities were trying to sabotage her concert because “so many people are mad that it’s this successful.” On Sunday morning, Minaj apologized to a crowd of fans in Manchester.

Live Nation also released a statement to concerned fans. “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, today’s events have made it impossible. We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”

Minaj was previously under fire for her feud with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion. After Megan Thee Stallion released her song “Hiss,” calling out Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, ticket websites had to inform fans that there would be a registered sex offender at her concert. Petty was convicted of rape in 1995 and failed to register as a sex offender after moving to California.
