Let this be a lesson to all divas out there — do your research before you tweet. When a fan tweeted to Cher over the weekend that Nicki Minaj had dissed her in her song, "Did it On'em," the elder pop star responded with a message that caused Minaj's man, Safaree Samuels, to come to her defense.
It all started when a fan tweeted to Cher, "Did you know that b-tch @NickiMinaj dissed you in her song?" The question was in reference to the line that says, "If you could turn back time — Cher / You used to be here but now you gone — Nair."
After Cher shot back with, "I’ve seen lots of people come & go! No biggie!", Minaj countered with "@Cher #stopit5".
That's when Samuels, Minaj's boyfriend, took the chivalrous route and defended his lady. "[Y]o @cher listen to the words b4 you say dumb sh-t on twitter. do you know what a rap metaphore is??? TM is a cult you dont want it with!!" he tweeted.
Cher then put out the flames, admitting she jumped the gun. "You’re right! Im wrong! U R Right! Someone said I was dissed…I’ve been dissed b4, but instead of finding out…I just got defensive!" she tweeted. "Gimme a fkn break! Said I was dumb!"
