Nick Wold, Chris Bagamery, and Nelson, who comprise the three-piece band Dreamers, have big plans for the future after debuting four tracks on an EP late last year.
Wold and Bagamery founded Dreamers after breaking away from the indie rock band Motive. Wold, who plays guitar and is the Dreamers lead vocalist, explained, “Chris and I were in a band called Motive for a few years and we kind of had creative differences and ended up kind of splitting. We were writing all these other new songs, so new music, new guys. We decided it was a new band and we just started from scratch. Dreamers.”
As for the new sound they’ve achieved with Dreamers, Wold calls it was a “natural progression” – no doubt aided by the addition of bassist Nelson. Nelson was discovered online by Wold and Bagamery’s manager online and got up onstage with them one night as an audition.
“We auditioned a couple guys and he was the one. The chosen one,” Wold said. Bagamery added in jest, “We had a notepad of different attributes. There was like hair, inseam, shoe size. And Nelson just had all the right things.”
In November of last year, Dreamers dropped their first EP, which features tracks “Wolves,” “No Love,” “Waste My Night,” and “My Little Match.”
“We recorded it with a beautiful man named Danny Calve in Virginia at a studio called Ravensworth and we’re super happy about it,” said Wold. “Like for us the best recording process we’ve yet been a part of. Had an amazing time and we’re really happy with the music. We put out an EP; Dreamers EP, four songs. We’ve got a lot more in the hole.”
“Lots more music coming,” Wold added. “Lots more shows and lots more crazy weird artwork.”
The Dreamers are currently touring with Stone Temple Pilots. You can get tickets here.
