Nick Jonas and his longtime girlfriend Olivia Culpo have called it quits after nearly two years of dating.
Jonas, 22, and Culpo, 23, reportedly decided to split due to their hectic schedules and the pressure the distance had been putting on their relationship.
“This has been a sensitive matter and both of them still love and care about each other and only want the best for one another,” an insider told E! News. “The long distance and ups and downs have been weighing on the two of them lately and it has not been easy but they know this is the best decision for them at this time.”
Culpo appears to be commenting on the breakup on Twitter, posting a series of inspirational messages. “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did,” she wrote in one, citing Maya Angelou. “But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
While Jonas has been relatively quiet on social media, he did hint that the distance was taking its toll on the relationship in a recent interview.
“The long distance is tough and dealing with that is always interesting, but it’s all good,” Jonas told ABC News. “You know, we’re both busy and young and enjoying life, and it’s going well.”
Jonas and Culpo had been dating since August 2013 after meeting at the 2013 Miss USA Competition.
