Nick Gordon, the ex-boyfriend of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, was arrested on a domestic violence charge involving his new live-in girlfriend.

The arrest happened on Saturday. Gordon was accused of “hitting and punching” his girlfriend, 26-year-old Laura Leal, according to a report by the Sanford Police Department in Florida.

Officers found Gordon at a local club house near the couple’s home and took him into custody. He was arrested on domestic battery and false imprisonment charges.

Leal told police that they started arguing around midnight because “he thought she was trying to hook up with one of his friends” before he allegedly became violent.

Gordon told officers that he never hit her, “that he is the one that was abused and punished,” that she hit and punched him repeatedly, and that he wishes to press charges against her, the report says.

After observing the woman’s injuries, however, officers advised her to seek hospital treatment, and then took Gordon into custody, jailing him without bond on charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment.

Last year, Gordon was ordered to pay $36 million after being found responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown.
