Zayn Malik Pleads No Contest To Yolanda Hadid’s Harassment Charges

Zayn Malik has pleaded no contest to harassment charges and denied shoving Yolanda Hadid during an argument.

The singer must serve 360 days of probation and complete an anger management course as well as a domestic violence program. The charges stem from Hadid and her daughter, Gigi Hadid. Gigi and Malik share their 13-month old daughter, Khai Malik, together.

The case occured after an argument that escalated at the Hadids’ Pennsylvania home. Malik was charged with four counts of harassment after an incident on September 29 when he allegedly “grabbed [Yolanda] and shoved her into a dresser, causing mental anguish and physical pain,” court documents read.

Malik was allegedly insulting his ex’s mother and was “continuously cursing” at her, telling her to “stay away from [his] f—-ing daughter.”

Malik has released a statement about the altercation on Twitter. He said he wanted to create “a safe space where private family matters aren’t thrown in the world stage for all to poke and pick apart.”

He also wrote, “I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”

Malik also spoke to TMZ about the claims he struck Hadid. “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing their family issues in private,” he said.

Gigi Hadid and Malik had been in an on-and-off relationship since rumors of them dating first surfaced in November 2015.

Their daughter Khai was born September 23, 2020.

Malik announced the news of his daughter’s arrival on Twitter, writing, “Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful. To try to put into words how I am feeling right now would be impossible.”

The two are planning on co-parenting their daughter and decided to separate after charges were filed.
