The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has wrapped up its investigation into the singer Trey Songz after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a Vegas visit for his birthday last November. They have stated that Songz, who has been participating in the investigation, is officially cleared and won’t receive any charges.
The LVMPD told reporters that they “concluded the investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Tremaine Neverson and determined that no criminal charges will be filed.” They also added that the case could be re-opened if “any new evidence comes to light.”
Attorneys for Songz, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, thanked the LVMPD and claimed that the police noted “findings of inconsistency in witness testimony and insufficient evidence,” in the accusation levied against them.
Songz is also facing two other lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct, one of which is seeking $20 million in damages. His legal team is attempting to throw out one of the suits by accusing the attorney of both accusers Ariel Mitchell of bribing a primary witness, but a ruling has not been determined for that case yet.
