Tickets for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will go on sale right after the first trailer drops on Monday night.
Mark Hamill leaked the information in a tweet weeks ago, but the plan was confirmed by the official Star Wars Twitter account. The trailer for the much anticipated next feature in the franchise will air during halftime of Monday Night Football on ESPN. The game, which will see Minnesota Vikings face the Chicago Bears, begins at 8:15 pm.
In September, Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, tweeted out, “Watch Monday Night Football on Monday October 9th — for no particular reason.” The tweet was quickly deleted, but not before fans got their hopes up.
After Star Wars confirmed the trailer, ticket seller Fandango announced Sunday that tickets would go on sale for the film at the same time. Fandango buyers will also receive a free poster, according to a company press release.
Episode 8 hits theaters Dec. 15.
Brown will be accompanied by guest artists Scotty McCreery, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley Cooke and Dasha.
