Fans were shocked to see photos emerge over the weekend of Selena Gomez and The Weeknd getting cozy pop up.

Paparazzi spotted the artists outside a restaurant in Santa Monica, where they were embracing, holding hands, and kissing. TMZ posted the pictures and fans have been freaking out about the possible new couple.

Neither singer has verified the photos, but they are clearly the people in them. This comes especially as a shock because The Weeknd just ended his long-term relationship with Bella Hadid in November, who is a good friend of Gomez’s.

Gomez also recently declared an indefinite break from creating music following her lupus diagnosis. The “Kill Em With Kindness” singer has been experiencing anxiety and depression since finding out about her autoimmune disease. It is unknown when or if she will return to singing.

The Weeknd, meanwhile, is slated to headline at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee later this year.
