Priyanka Chopra’s Met Gala Dress Sparks Memes, Actress Chooses Her Favorite

Actress Priyanka Chopra wore a long trench coat dress with a huge circular trail to the 2017 Met Gala on Monday.

The outfit, designed by Ralph Lauren, sparked plenty of Internet memes. One joked an ad for a new movie called “Tent Raider,” a spoof of Tomb Raider. Others made the trail of the dress into a coffee or chai tea cup. Comedian Sahil Shah photoshopped the dress onto the fictional ship from Star Trek and said, “We need to cover up the USS Enterprise. Priyanka Chopra: Say No More.”

Chopra, however, took the time to choose her favorite meme, showing the Internet that she possesses a great sense of humor. She posted a photo to her Instagram account of her in the dress, with the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx on the trail. “**drumroll** ?? to your creativity! I’ve picked a few of my favourites! Good to know that the dress serves more purposes than just fashion,” she captioned the post. “Hope to continue to stir your creative juices. This is why I love the #MetGala you literally can push the envelope for fashion anywhere! Until next time… #ROFL.”

She also interacted with her fans by posting another meme, showing herself in the dress before the gala and on her way to the afterparty. Apparently the long trail could be taken off, so the meme said, “When you have the Met Gala at 7:30 and an after party at 10.”
