Phish is best known for their live performances, where the band members often improvise with one another and songs are likely be longer than 15 minutes, often transitioning seamlessly between one song and the next. The band are also known to change set lists often, so no one concert is the same. The band has often been compared to the Grateful Dead, as both band’s music is a fusion of several distinct genres, including folk and psychedelic rock, in a light, classic-rock style, with a plenty of improvisation. Both bands were also known to spend a lot of time touring and have devoted fans which followed them from concert to concert.

Given that the band’s super-fans “Phishheads” often attend multiple performances, those unfamiliar but curious about the jam band should purchase tickets before they sell out.
