After a reported 19,000 air-raid alarms in Ukraine’s first year of war with Russia, the people needed something a little more uplifting going into their second year – so Mark Hamill, the iconic Star Wars lead, offered his voice to help.
The air-raid app has been downloaded more than 14 million times and warns the people of Ukraine of Russian bombs, missiles or exploding drones may be heading their way and suggest they find shelter. People can choose between a woman speaking Ukrainian, or Hamill speaking English with a Jedi Knight-like voice.
